With Heathrow Timeslot passengers can enjoy peace of mind knowing they can go directly to the security area at their pre-booked time slot.
London, UK – London Heathrow Airport, CLEAR (NYSE: YOU) and Copenhagen Optimization today announced the launch of a free pilot program, called Heathrow Timeslot. The program allows travelers to plan ahead and reserve a dedicated security time slot for their party – giving them a more predictable and seamless travel experience. Heathrow is the first UK airport to offer a virtual queuing solution to its travelers.
The Heathrow Timeslot trial will run for six months and will be held at Terminal 3. The offer is available for all passengers travelling with American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Emirates, and Virgin Atlantic. The airport states that more carriers may be added during the six-month period.

How it Works:
- Reserve: To use the free Heathrow Timeslot, just visit the dedicated website where you can enter your flight details, the size of your party, and find a reservation time that works for you.
- Confirm: Once you select your reservation time, finish booking by entering your email, and confirming your details. You’ll receive a confirmation email and QR code. You will receive a designated time and entry point to the security search area.
- Go: When arriving at the airport follow the signs to the Heathrow Timeslot area after checking in any baggage. Scan your QR code and enjoy the fast lane right to screening and security.
Reservations can be made online as early as three days in advance of a flight’s scheduled departure date. Reservation times are available based on the passenger’s selected flight. The latest timeslots for security will be available 90 minutes before departure for long-haul flights and 60 minutes before short-haul flights.
Heathrow joins 19 other airport locations across the U.S., Canada, and Europe to offer this free, appointment-based system in partnership with Copenhagen Optimization and CLEAR. In total, CLEAR and Copenhagen Optimization’s virtual queuing platform has served more than 2 million passengers since launching in 2021.
